[Green has skipped out on training, over the past few days, keeping himself busy with taking notes and giving his Pokémon a break.

He will, however, be bugging his fellow Pokémon trainers, both the ones new to Pokémon and the ones from Pokémon worlds, with exception to Masaomi. He's got quite a few people he needs to talk to. He'll find them wherever they may usually be spending their day, unless they're not seeing anyone.]

I don't like to be vague and ask pointless questions, but for what reason do people gather strength in your world?

I've had a poor conversation and need to have a better grasp of overall context.

Well, I'm always trying to find strength for my friends. I guess that's kinda cheesy for some people, but I really can't help it. When there's somebody you care about, isn't it good to fight for their sake?

Though I disagree in some cases. It is important to be independent, regardless of who you decide to protect in their time of need. I wouldn't seek strength solely to protect someone, at least not to the degree that I already have.

I know that I've only ever wanted power to protect the people I care about and to do my duty to the world better. But that's not why everyone does it. There are other people in my world who gathered power just to cause war and destruction, and they didn't seem to care about the people they were supposed to protect. [He thinks of Ozai, then of Zuko's scar; of Sozin, and of Roku's dying moments.] And I don't know why.

[Looking at the picture long enough, Aang thought he recognized the guy. That's that guy he bugged with questions when Gold and Silver had their Pokemon battle... He really knew his stuff.]

And there are some people who start pursuing it for certain reasons. Reasons I would consider big red flags.

I can't say I can speak for everyone, but I always thought people wanted to become stronger so they could protect what's important to them.

It is not the reason that everyone gets stronger. But that is a common reason.

I think a large reason for people to gather strength would be to protect others, especially those close to them. Or even to fit qualifications for things such as jobs better. ヽ（´ー｀）

Those are very common and mundane reasons. They're also fairly commonplace in my world, at least with most folk.

To protect people from dangerous things! In my world demons threaten people, so others become exorcists to save them.

But sometimes other people don't want to burden those that protect them. They just want to catch up.

To catch up? What sort of people do you mean?

There's a number of reasons. Most just want to have the strength to protect themselves and those they care for. Others wish to have the strength to lead others or abuse it to stay in power. It depends.

And those who want the strength to lead others? How do they fare, in your experience?

[There's also the fact that he enjoys fighting, but he figures it's best to stick with the reason that's easier to explain.]

It seems like that's a common theme, is protecting others and those that matter. I'm not surprised.

It'll likely take a few attempts to perfect the flavor rather than being able to get the desired taste at first, but hopefully we'll still be able to find the proper solution for it--[Man what is Cilan even talking about this time...oh, Pansage spots Green first and gestures to him.]--Hm? Depends. Some want strength for the hell of it, others need it to protect their own.

In my world, I've sought training to defend people that need it, and protect the peace and stability of the Galaxy. There are some people who seek power for personal gain, but I think that's true of most worlds.

And those who seek it for themselves? Do they turn out well in other worlds?

[Because 9 times out of 10 they certainly do not in Pokémon worlds.]

I find the opposite is true. But explain what you mean, first.

In theory at the very least. Most of them seem to want it for the explicit purpose of being foolish and yet still retain some chance of survival.

Many reasons - survival, protection of self or others, self worth, to be worthy, to compete, to prove a point that you can.

None of these reasons are inherently bad ones. None of them are inherently good ones either. A person's reason for seeking power is often a very personal thing. It's something you should be careful about... if you are making a judgement call.

It's... selfish, if looked at in that light, I guess. It's a pursuit that makes me feel nothing but apprehension. It's all the marks of something wrong.
